pouches for wedding favours

This weekend I have tried to make some very simple pouches. I have used the base of the garden party pattern by Keyka Lou.
The pouches will be used to hold favours for a winter wedding I'm preparing. I thought maybe they'd look nice if they were reversible, so that men and women could have a different side. It's the first time I prepare favours, and I'm really excited with this project. Your ideas are welcome, especially if you have embarked on a similar project yourself in the past!

Liberty curvy clutch

This weekend I finally got round to using some of my Liberty fabric from this exhibition and made another super cute curvy clutch. As usual, it has been a pleasure to sew this. I always use a certain pattern most of you know I 'm sure, and I just love making them.
I have added a small inside pocket this time again, with a bit more success than the last time and hope that one day this will be like second nature to me!

simple pleasure

Oh, I know it's bad, but I just couldn't resist it! The thought of having all these things in my cupboard was too strong, and I gave in. Over the last few days I have had absolutely no willpower, and today was no exception as you can see. Is it wrong to loooove food and eating generally?

This has to be my ultimate "gouter" as we call it in France - cold milk, some chocolate (lucky me, I've still got some Cote d'Or stored up!) and a bit of bread / plain biscuit. Yummy!

It's just a shame that my lack of willpower and concentration has taken over my creative side too. I must have spent about an hour looking at my fabric stash yesterday and couldn't decide what to do with any of it. I hate those days, don't you?

my hero

Today I just want to share with you a great song by one of my all time favourite singers - Bowie. This is a little known version of "Heroes", a german one. The song was also recorded in french, but I don't think it sounds as good.
This song is my idea of classic Bowie, and every time I hear it it reminds me of Christiane F. I must have read the book when I was 15 and shortly after that I saw the movie on the franco-german channel on TV. This story has marked me a lot, and I often wonder what has happened to Christiane since leaving crazy 70s Berlin. Bowie was a major star in Germany at the time, even more than in England I think.

Don't you just love Bowie? Anyway, what's everybody else been listening to?

pocket purse & pouch

Another month, another Keyka Lou pattern extravaganza. I already showed you the curvy clutch I made a while ago, and I finally got round to making a pocket purse to go with it.
I absolutely love working with those patterns, and all the accessories are always a big hit with friends and colleagues. Have you tried them yet? You can find Keyka Lou's website on my list of favourites on the right!

Check out my new phone jewel thingy! One of my pupils brought it back from Korea as a present for me...cute, no?

I (heart) Japan

- The mythical deer of Nara park -

Near the pretty folk village of Takayama, a proud owner parades his paragliding dog. And before you think I've lost it, it's true, I've seen the TV footage of them both flying!

My dream come true - snapping some maiko in Kyoto. The light was just so good, and the two cheeky ones on the first picture were only too happy to pose for me...

- Spotting a wedding couple posing for their photos -
