My little Goodnight box
Aaaaaah....I have completely forgotten to tell you about November's Little Box, so here is a quick review - I only realised I ought to post when I received the December box yesterday!
Quite aptly, November's was called "Goodnight", and perfectly in tune with the grey weather, oh-so-short days and complete lack of interest in staying up late these days.
The lifestyle presents were very sweet again this month: a sleeping mask and a pretty adorable sidetable dish to put your trinkets in before going to sleep. I've actually been using it every night since the box arrived, although I have to say it's quite small, but that's OK as I tend to just wear stud-like earrings. I will be keeping my sleeping mask for when I am travelling next, as it's not the kind of thing I use at home.
Our beauty presents were a mixed bag for me this month. I was pleased with the Little Beauty make-up remover gel, it's quite neutral in terms of perfume and has a nice texture on the skin. It's not a product I normally use (I'm a wipe kinda gal), so once again it's a good discovery.
I am just not into Yves Rocher perfumes, and this is the third this year, so I'm not too happy with that, but hey, I can just throw it into a Christmas stocking, so I guess that's ok. But please, Little box, stop sending those, they're just not cool. And three this year? I bet other brands are lining up to be a part of the Little Box hype, aren't they? Give them a chance :)
The last thing was the best by far: Garnier Skin Active's 3 in 1. It's a great cleanser for everyday, and I love how it gently scrubs you at the same time. You can also use it as a mask, so it's a win-win product. Nice!
Overall another nice box with a good few presents. What did you think of it? Do you feel the same about the old Yves Rocher perfumes, or did you enjoy them?

my little Brooklyn box
My Little Brooklyn Box arrived! And guess what people, it is spot on season and trend once more, I loved it at first sight. The blogosphere seems to have been filled with lovely pics from all the lovely people I follow this year, and it's kind of given me the urge to go myself - Mr Peony, if you ever read this post, yes, I've made up my mind and would love to have a look around ;)
The October box is such a breath of fresh air as the days gets darker, shorter and colder.
Our lifestyle goodies this month were a lovely tin mug ("coffee made me do it" is a nice touch, too) in an equally lovely box. I think I'll be using it with soup, kind of more in tune with the season.
The perk this month is a stencil for making fancy cocoa drawings on the top of your coffee - again, I am thinking savoury sprinkles, like sesame seeds on pumpkin soup maybe?
We also had three lovely pins (soooo retro!) with the modern twist of having a pair for your collars, as presented on the card. I love this idea.
The beauty stuff is pretty exciting too, with a gold Kohl pen by Terry (never had one of those before, and hadn't come across this brand either), a super pink gloss from Sephora, which instantly reminded me of Kinski in Paris,Texas for some reason, and the Little Beauty treat is a nail treatment, which again is so perfect this month!
I have to say I also fell in love with Kanako's illustration, I think it's possible the cutest of the year and once I find a nice frame for it it is going up on the wall for sure.
Overall a nice box again this month, and I am really proud of myself for not giving in to the temptation to look at Instagram and discover the theme before my box arrived in my pigeon hole in work. Every month, it feels like the best day of the month in work. I totally recommend getting it delivered there, nothinng makes me happier. Well, coffee and a nice biccie maybe? Nah, not even close.

my little flower book
Once again today, in the nick of time before the May box arrives, here is my monthly Little Box post. I absolutely adored it, right up my street, and so fitting with the season.
Our own garden is blooming at the moment, it's been such a transformation over the past couple of weeks, and we feel really blessed to finally be able to enjoy the sunshine without having to pack a bag and treck to the local park. Anyway, back to our flower book.
So April was all about flowers. First of all the box wasn't really a box, but rather a "book" - snazzy for hiding tiny secrets in your bookshelf. The colour scheme was lovely, all in oranges and greens.
So, on to goodies.
Lifestyle goodies truly felt like a treat this time, with a mini appartment garden to grow on your windowsill (I've put mine in the bathroom). I thought this was such a lovely idea, and with no need for a big open space to use it, it's perfect for everyone. Next came another great treat from a collaboration with Balzac Paris, the superb lingerie bag. I'll be honest with you, I never had the need for one of those before but I can see myself using it on one of our upcoming trips very soon. Even more pleasing, its colous perfectly match a new pair of underwear I bought in France last month!
Beatuty goodies were a genuine surprise, as they are most months. If you know my instagram account, you will surely know I have a thing for peonies, my favourite flower. So finding a peony shower gel by L'Occitane was fab, I felt like it was made just for me! Then we had a nail varnish, the first one ever since I started my subscription. I haven't tried it yet, but il looks like a good shade, I had a similar one from Mavala before. And finally, MyLittle Beauty's product is a Rosee du Matin. Again, this is perfectly in line with the monthly theme, right down to the packaging.
I am so, so happy with this month's, well it's last month's in reality, Little Box, I can't wait for the new one to arrive. And I will try to post about it sooner than 4 weeks late! In the meantime, enjoy your flowers wherever you are.

Easter Baby
This year's early Easter coincided with Baby's third birthday, which gave us the opportunity to see family and to organise a small first party in our new house (more on the new house later, we're still feeling our way around it, but gosh, is it nice to have your own place at last!)
Baby J could not have been happier with her birthday. I saw lots of hanging balloons on Pinterest lately and tried it the night before the big day - man, the look on her face when she saw them in the morning was priceless, I have never seen that look of amazement on her before, like "really, all this for me?" Then presents, then grandparents arriving without her knowing, then a whole day at London zoo, and then my delicious but not very "together" pecan cake (Delia's recipe here), wow, what a day for our big girl. And what proud, happy parents she makes us.
DIY tips
♥ For the balloons, I used some simple masking tape and raffia ribbons, we're lucky to have the right kind of skylight to hand them on to, but Pinterest has loads of ideas for balloons hanging off doorframes etc too.
♥ The cake really was nice, honest, especially the caramelised pecans and mascarpone cream BUT do not let a three-year-old dictate the decoration of said cake, stick to Delia's, or wait until the very last minute to add your hundreds and thousands!

my little home box
I can see how this can easily become an obsession. From the first week of February I started checking my mail box like a stalker in the hope of finding my "little box" nestled in there. Luckily I only had to wait until the 10th, which was lovely. It is so hard not to find out anything about the current month's little box theme when you are using social media (I started IGing a few months ago, you can find a link over on the top of my page) so I did know it would be a "home" theme but refrained from looking at anything else till I got mine.
Home is a perfect theme for this time of year with spring around the corner and ideas flowing in for redecorating and renewing a few homely items. The box does not disappoint.
On the lifestyle goodies front, a lovely framed illustration by Kanako (love those!) and a great cushion cover - just happened to be the perfect size for my sofa cushions. I can totally see myself purchasing a few extra ones when they become available in the little corner shop. The beauty treats are all very well presented in their little pouch bag as last month - I guess this is the case in every box? They were a mask and peel product by Noxidoxi, slightly shimmery moisturiser from the little beauty range and a large Polaar hand cream, all good quality and much appreciated already.
I absolutely love the box again this month, and am already thinking of ways I can reuse the empty boxes, they're so pretty! The thing is, we have finally had the great news we have been waiting for and we'll soon be moving into our new home. So you see, this month's theme really couldn't have come at a better time!

my little box
Please forgive me, for I have been weak and gave in to temptation...but would you just look at that? Isn't it the most gorgeous thing to come through your post on a dreary January day?
After seeing a lot of fellow French bloggers showing off their "my little box" on their sites every month, I have finially decided to give this a go, with it being my birthday month and many other excuses I can't think of right now, I subscribed and got my first box in the post last week. Yay!
Each new box carries a different theme and is filled with beauty and lifestyle goodies. This month it's a "little wish box" and the lifestyle goodies are a gorgeous planner and some ribbony bracelets, and over on the beauty side I got a Ren micellar water. I use micellar water everyday and haven't tried this one, so it's great to give this new product a go. Next was a miracle day cream by Garnier, and then a very soft and lovely lip balm from My little box's own beauty range, My little beauty.
On the whole I really like the concept, and it's the ultimate feel-good postbox treat. And on the plus side, in a way it makes me feel a bit connected with the old country (I never really admit it, but I do miss you, France!) I think overall the best thing for me has to be the packaging, neat, pretty, goodies came in a lovely string bag, oh, and I forgot the magazine, too! So far, so good, folks. Let's see what February will bring. Can't wait!
