What best to warm your heart on a cold winter day but home-made brownies?
Why, I say, even better than that is using my new matriochka timer to help make them! It's sooo nice to have friends think of you and remember your tastes. Thanks, A. !
As usual, it has been another Sunday filled with lots of good intentions to do things for myself (especially trying out this new pattern I purchased from Michelle Patterns, formerly known as Keyka lou). Unfortunately, everyday life always takes over, and the reality is, without a three-day weekend, I can never achieve all I set out to do. Still, hey ho, not long before I stay at home for more time than I ever imagined...that too warms the heart!

treats
The other morning there were TWO treats in my advent calendar window!
They went straight into my snack box, a lovely seasonal matriochka from the cold, given to me by a dear friend last year. I know, it looks like a big snack - but with such big days in school, I need to seriously refuel half-way through the morning.

new obsession
Since my Christmas advent calendar, I have developped a new obsession for matriochkas. I have seen many handmade things on etsy but a few items have caught my attention more than others:
Finally, I want to show you my own tiny and lonesome matriochka. I love the dainty doll here. This was given to me by my cousin last summer when she visited.
After looking at all those pretty things, I really want to try and make my own now. The good news is, today I have a bit of extra free time...guess why?
That's right! The weather has played in my favour yet again. I was sorry to have to brave the snow early to try and diligently get into work, only to find out I was being sent back home; but hey, who can complain with another day off? I certainly won't!!
**Happy Snowy Day everyone**
