baby quilt
The day before yesterday I started this new sewing project. Simple enough, but I'm going to need one of those soon...can you guess what it will be?
I am using a medley of old, new and vintage fabrics for it. Amongst others, those I mentionned a while ago have finally found a purpose- hurray!

vintage fabric
I am terrible. Honestly, I cannot help but buy more fabric even though I have a stock building up at home! But really, deep down, you know you couldn't have resisted this loooovely vintage-like fabric if you'd seen it yourself, could you?
When I spotted it, I knew instantly how to use it too. So last weekend I started fussy-cutting it into beautiful little rectangles...
And guess what they became? Little lavender trinkets for Christmas stockings. Aren't the fabrics just gorgeous?
They all went in "the finished products basket" for a while...
And finally into little bags of lavender goodness - by that time day light had disappeared, sorry for the bad pictures!

Christmas project
These little Christmas ornaments are now finished, but you get to see them in the process of being assembled together. I used the same pattern and idea (inspired by the yukata I brought back from japan) as I had two years ago when I made an enormous batch of favours for a December wedding.
This time I embroidered "Noel 2012" or "Christmas 2012" at the back for keepsake.

I will show you the whole "batch" of this year's lavender bags (last year's is here)before they go and find new homes next week.

treats
The other morning there were TWO treats in my advent calendar window!
They went straight into my snack box, a lovely seasonal matriochka from the cold, given to me by a dear friend last year. I know, it looks like a big snack - but with such big days in school, I need to seriously refuel half-way through the morning.

Christmas inspiration
More inspiration from the craft fair I visited in Paris a couple of weeks ago. This time I'll show you how different companies showcased their talent on the dinner table.
Check out the glass holder!
I love this last idea for upcycling old lace. The latest issue of Marie-Claire Idées is full of nice extra tips. Hope you've enjoyed this last trip.

December inspiration
More marvellous ideas from the fair I visited last Sunday...this time I want to share wrapping ideas for your Christmas presents. Enjoy!
Simple present bags (Ikea now does a cheap line of those) with pretty Liberty ribbons attached. La Droguerie has loads of different Liberty biais.
This one is my favourite. Saidos da Concha posted a similar idea a couple of years ago here. Old maps are a winner for that vintage chic look.

Marie-Claire Idées
For years I have been wondering what it would be like to go to this craft fair, and I finally got to find out last weekend during another mini break in paris. It was heaven - like a visit to your local craft shop but around 200 times bigger, with workshops, artisans, renowned artists and so many habberdashery counters you simply lost count.
I easily spent the whole day there, even though my back is hurting me at the moment (guess it has to do with the mini me putting all kinds of pressure around). It almost felt like I was rushed at the end, when I really had to leave in order to catch my train and make my way back across the Channel ;)
The place was full of inspiration, and even though I was wise with my spending, I feel completely full of ideas for the festive period looming upon us. I will show you my purchases once I can take a decent picture of them. Now for the showcase windows...
Doesn't it just look wonderful? Well, it truly was. I have another whole series of photos to share on the Christmas theme, so keep tuned for more.
